Rochester and Fulton County have a storied history that has been celebrated and commemorated by the community via events and civic traditions that bring the people together year after year. Some have endured and seem to draw bigger crowds every year, like the Trail of Courage (formerly the Trail of Death Rendezvous) and the Downtown Chili Cook-Off and Red Hot Car Show, but some of the more recent additions are capturing the public’s imagination and patronage.
Themed events like the Halloween ‘Boo-fest’ and the Christmas season ‘Holiday Stroll’ have attracted large numbers of people to the downtown area, while other events have tried to recapture the excitement of festivals from days gone by with varying degrees of success. Plans are in the works to keep developing ideas for events that will inspire joy, excitement, and memories that last, and also bring attention and business traffic to our beautiful town.
