Emili Johson, a Rochester, Indiana native, and newly licensed Yoga Instructor has brought her teaching skills back to her hometown. She started practicing yoga in 2015 while a sophomore at Indiana University Bloomington. The physical benefits are what first attracted Emili to yoga, but found a mind-body connecting through it and an improvement in her mental health. She spills some secrets to our readers through a beginners sequence that you too can try at home.


Yoga postures: Yoga is about connecting the mind and body. Yoga postures does more than deal with only the physical body, but also the mind. It’s known to literally influence the chemical balance of the brain, in turn improving one’s mental state of being.
